In 2011 the Institute for Liberal Studies hosted its first student essay contest, in cooperation with the Atlas Economic Research Foundation and the Donner Canadian
Foundation. Five students shared $3,000 in cash prizes, along with two trips to the Atlas Liberty Forum in New York City. Here are the winning essays:
First place ($1,500 plus trip to Atlas Liberty Forum)
